Chicago's Very Own Dj Tsunami!!!!!
DJ Tsunami (Erik Johnson) knew from the first time he heard electronic music, he had found his calling. Introduced to the genre by pioneers such as Prodigy and The Crystal Method, he slowly began to expand his knowledge of this newly discovered sound. When a friend bought a set of turntables, the two began to experiment with them, although they were not at all familiar with the backgrounds of house music or turntablism. Upon getting equipment of his own, Tsunami began to practice religiously, teaching himself how to mix, scratch and become a well-rounded DJ. When the time was right, he slowly began to emerge into the Chicago scene, playing underground gigs, parties, and small shows at local venues. Now an established DJ, Tsunami continues to grow as a performer, and has developed a style that is all his own. After sharing the stage with top national and worldwide talent and playing countless shows at top-notch night clubs all over the United States, 2008-2009 had already been monumental years for Tsunami. With the start of 2010, he set his eyes and ears on becoming a renowned producer of the music he fell in love with, and in a few months had already released widely recognized bootlegs and signed to two different record labels to release an original track and a remix, both available in late January 2011. He has said that he has absolutely no plans on stopping this momentum in the near future, so look out for Tsunami in a city near you!
